The Volunteer Alliance for Relief & Development is the national relief and development humanitarian organization saving lives in emergencies and eliminating poverty to improve resilience and achieve sustainable growth and social development.

VARD believes in a world without poverty where people can influence decisions that affect their lives, enjoy their rights, and take their role as full citizens of a world in which all human beings are valued and treated equally. However, conflict, climate change, disasters, inequality, and – most recently – the COVID-19 pandemic means one in nine people globally is still going below the poverty line and hunger looms for millions.

VARD has been working with people affected by conflict, climate change, disasters, inequality, gender-based violence, and food insecurity to tackle poverty and hunger. VARD also supports communities in improving productivity, reducing losses,   preparing for and coping with climate-related shocks, and crises, and boosting human capital through displacing children’s feeding programs and Education programs
